Wings Deal Athanasiou To Oilers
For the second time in 24 hours, the Detroit Red Wings have made a deal with the Edmonton Oilers.
Just hours before the NHL's trade deadline (Monday, 3pm Eastern), the Red Wings have sent forward Andreas Athanasiou (pictured), and minor league forward Ryan Kuffner to the Oilers for centerman Sam Gagner and two future draft picks (one in 2020, one in 2021).
Athanasiou had only 10 goals this season for the Wings, after scoring 30 for the club last season. Andreas is a restricted free agent after the season.
Gagner has only 12 points on this season, and is an unrestricted free agent after the season is over.
