Michigan's quarterback situation for the 2018 season got a little more clear with the decision from their 2017 opening day starter.

Speight was the Wolverines' starter to begin 2017 but a spinal injury at Purdue kept him on the sideline for the rest of the year. John O'Korn and Brandon Peters traded off starter duties throughout the season due to injuries and performance issues.

Speight does not know where he will play next season, but wherever he goes he will be allowed to play right away due to the NCAA's rule on transfers for graduate students.

With Speight's transfer it would appear that Peter and redshirt freshman Dylan McCaffrey will compete for the starting job to begin 2018.
