Slow starts.  They've been the biggest issue for the Williamston Hornets in the past few seasons.  After several games of good starts, things again started slowly Friday night at Lansing Catholic.  But a 27-8 second quarter turned the tide and the steamroll began from there as the Hornets (11-2; 6-0 CAAC White) knocked off the Cougars 72-49, taking a commanding lead in the CAAC White.  Lansing Catholic (5-7; 3-3 CAAC White) came out inspired, holding a 3-point lead after one quarter 12-9.  But that large 2nd, sparked by Joseph Hahnenberg & Caleb Smith, built up an insurmountable lead for Williamston that they would not relinquish.  The game got a little chippy in the second half (as most LCC-Willy games go), as the Cougars tried to battle back with Matthew Plaehn & Josh Kramer.  Even switching up their defense from man-to-man, 1-3-1 & 2-3 zones.  But Cole Kleiver and the Hornets would not relent, dominating on the boards and continuing to hold off the Cougars.  Kleiver lead all scorers with 25 points, along with 6 assists.  Hahnenberg had 11 points, 14 rebounds & 3 blocks.  Kramer had 13 points & 5 steals for Lansing Catholic, while Colin Day also had 13 pts.  This marked the last time the two schools would battle as conference foes in the regular season, as Williamston will be leaving for the CAAC Red next school year.  It also was the first time the Hornets defeated the Cougars in both regular season match-ups since the 2013-14 campaign.
