The Pistons took a chance on Derrick Rose in their first big move of the free agency season.

Detroit will make the official announcement soon, but all reports say that Rose signed a two year deal worth $15 Million. That's a big pay increase from the $2 Million Rose was getting from the T-Wolves last season.

When Rose broke into the league with the Bulls, he was thought of as one of the next superstar faces of the NBA. A series of injuries, and off the court issues has kept him from what most people thought he could become.

At his best, Rose was an MVP in 2011, averaging 25 points a game. Rose never reached those numbers after a torn ACL injury in 2012. Rose bounced around the league after that, even considering retirement.

He did have a resurgence last season in Minnesota, averaging around 18 points a game. I just don't know if this is a good investment for the Pistons right now. Rose will be 31 this year, and has a history of being injury prone. Maybe he'll have the same type of season that Griffin had for the Pistons though, who knows?

I just don't love the idea of adding an aging player during a rebuilding process. Especially considering the Pistons used the bulk of their free agency money to sign him.

Do you think this will end up being a good thing?
