The Detroit Lions had their 2020 NFL Virtual Draft Kickoff with a thundering bang. With the coronavirus pandemic in full swing around the world, all sports are shut down. Even the NFL Draft. It was supposed to take place in Las Vegas, but that was cancelled. Instead, it took place in everyone’s man cave. Yeah, it was unbelievable how many people watched because there are no sports.

The Lions had the third pick overall in the first round. There was a lot of anticipation as to what they would do. So, instead of trading down to Miami to get one more solid draft pick, they stayed put with their pick. They did the safe thing and chose cornerback Jeff Okudah out of The Ohio State. He’s a great player and will contribute and start right out of the gate.

The Lions traded disgruntled pro-bowler Darius Slay to the Eagles. Okudah was a great pick Thursday night. The Lions need more defense especially up front. Matt Patricia is their head coach and Bob Quinn is their General Manager. Both guys came from the New England Patriots dynasty.

If they do not make the playoffs this coming season, if there is a season, they're done in Motown. All I can say is they did get a great player in Jeff Okudah. The Lions have smelled for 50 years. They can’t smell this coming season!
