By now everyone knows that Las Vegas Raiders Head Coach Jon Gruden resigned from his position on Monday night. This is a very disturbing story about a very complex man.

Gruden has a pretty successful resume in the NFL after guiding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl Crown years ago. The New York Times reported that Jon Gruden had sent emails that contained very awful and bad comments. They were homophobic, misogynistic, and racist comments about the commissioner of the NFL and just about everything and everyone. The emails were sent 10 years ago. They were ugly.

Jon Gruden had a 10-year, $100 million contract. It’s now over. Before that, he was the highest-paid employee at ESPN. But Mark Davis, owner of the Raiders and son of the legendary Al Davis, was his boss and had to make this decision.

This was Gruden’s second go-around with the Raiders. Mark Davis talked Gruden into coming out of retirement from ESPN and gave him the moon and the stars. But now it’s over! The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took him off their Ring of Honor too.

This is a very sad story about a man who all along knew these emails were still out there somewhere. Gruden really screwed up! I just got back from Las Vegas and that fan base has to be disgusted with Gruden. He went from a leader and a very high-paid coach in the NFL to a total outcast.
