West Michigan CEO Yells At Workers for Wanting Bonuses After Taking It From Them
If you have not seen this insane viral video, let me break it down for you.
The Grand Rapids CEO of an office furniture company, MillerKnoll ended up becoming the center of attention on social media after she told her employees to become better workers.
Do you want to know how Andi Owen thinks her staff can become better workers?
Andi Owen believes that they should stop asking whether or not they will lose their bonuses is the best way to be better staff members.
How ridiculous is that!
Now, due to her treatment of her employees, her comments have sparked a much-needed conversation about how CEOs treat their staff.
In the video, Andi's brief outburst was caught on tape since it seems as though the company was on a video call.
In what appears to be a 'pep talk' or some kind to encourage her employees to hit their sales goals before the end of May, Andi Owen addressed her staff in a not-so-pleasant way.
"Don't ask about 'What are we going to do if we don't get a bonus?' Get the d*** $26 million. Spend your time and your effort thinking about the $26 mullion we need, ad not thinking about what you're going to do if you don't get a bonus, alright?"
Owen says all of this while wagging her finger at her staff members on camera!
You may be thinking 'Okay that's bad but it could've been worse.'
Oh just wait...It does get worse.
Owens wraps up her scolding session by sharing some advice she received from her previous employer.
"I had an old boss who said to me one time, 'You can visit pity city, but you can't live there.' So people, leave pity city. Let's get it done."
In her private Instagram account, Owen shared that she received the bulk of her pay package which is set up in an incentive-based compensation, which is not uncommon for CEOs.
According to Yahoo! Finance,
"For the fiscal year to May 2022, this amounted to $2.9 million which came on top of Owen's $1.1 million in fixed salary."
NPR drives the point that I am making So essentially,
"Owen made nearly $4 million in bonuses in 2022."
But for some reason, Owen cannot fathom paying her employees a much-deserved bonus.
MillerKnoll has, since, released a statement saying that the clip was
Here is my question. Check out the video below. Do you think Owen's remarks were taken out of context?"taken out of context and struck a nerve."
