Week 1 High School Football Matchups

The 2024 high school football season is upon us again.  And the annual quest to Ford Field over Thanksgiving weekend begins for the nearly 600 schools playing 11-Player football in the great state of Michigan.

Mason was the only Lansing-area team to make it to Ford Field last season.  But they fell to Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central in the Division 3 final, 27-10.  East Lansing and Portland made it to the Division 2 and 5 semifinals, respectively.

Most of the games played in Week 1 are played on Thursday at 7:00pm because of the Labor Day weekend holiday, unless otherwise noted.  Most games from Week 2 on will be on Friday nights.

Oh, almost forgot.  The first high school football top 10 poll (picked by the author) will be released after the Week 2 games.  The author believes the season needs to play out a little bit before determining a top 10.
