The Waverly Warriors trailed the East Lansing Trojans by 19 points in the first half.  But they cut the lead to six points at intermission.  And then Waverly dominated the second half to win on the final night of the regular season 64-53 at Phil Odlum Gymnasium.

The Warriors rode junior forward Emmanuel Gildo to the victory, as he scored 24 points and tallied 7 rebounds.  Those points included some thunderous slam dunks that got the Waverly student section jumping.

East Lansing was led in scoring by senior Mikhail Myles, who had 22 points and 4 rebounds.  No other Trojan finished in double figures scoring.

Both teams finish the regular season at 12-8. Waverly plays Okemos next Monday in the opening round of the district tournament on Monday.  East Lansing plays the winner of the Everett/DeWitt game on Wednesday night in the district semifinals at Okemos High School.
