Visiting The Baseball Hall Of Fame For A Second Time

On my recent vacation I had a chance to visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. A museum that everyone should visit at least once.

I was excited that I finally made it back to Cooperstown and the Hall of Fame. I was originally there back in 1996. I don't remember my last visit but was glad to finally have seen Jack Morris and Alan Trammell in the Hall of Fame.

My wife and I visited the museum just a few days after the recent induction ceremony. It was busy but nowhere near the numbers that were there a few days earlier. We had heard our trolley driver mention there was around 70,000 people there during the induction weekend.

The hall of fame features three floors of exhibits. The many historic items and stories of baseball on the 2nd and 3rd floors and the actual hall of fame plaques on the ground floor. The latest inductees had their own exhibit that was featured on the 3rd floor.

One of the exhibits that I enjoyed was the locker room setup they had on the 2nd floor. The exhibit featured items from each team in the league. It was great to see items from teams you wouldn't normally see represented in the hall like Tampa and Colorado.

My wife and I spent most of the day in the hall as there is a lot to see. You could easily spend an entire day on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The hall also has a huge shop that features tons of baseball items.

I was lucky enough to find a Tigers Hall of Fame shirt that features all of their inductees over the years and an Alan Trammell shirt that highlights his induction.

I enjoyed it and will go back again if I ever get the chance. If you are a fan of baseball it is worth the trip to Cooperstown.
