The Big Ten Conference announced on Tuesday that Minnesota Vikings Chief Operating Officer Kevin Warren will take over for the retiring Jim Delany as the conference's new commissioner.

Warren will begin his duties on September 16, 2019 to work alongside the outgoing Delany and then Kevin will take over fully on January 1st, 2020, when Delaney officially retires.

Kevin has been with the Minnesota Vikings as an executive since 2005.  He has also spent time with the Detroit Lions and the St. Louis (now Los Angeles Rams) in their front office.

Jim Delany has been the commissioner of the Big Ten Conference since 1989, when he took over for Wayne Duke.
