Victory for MSU: #1 Shooting Guard Max Christie Commits for 2021
MSU reeled in another big recruit for basketball. This time the 2021 class will welcome Max Christie, the 13th ranked player in the nation and the #1 ranked shooting guard for the class. He is 6 foot 6 and hails from Illinois. He chose MSU over Villanova, Virginia, Purdue, Ohio State.
I love how the painting behind him makes it looks like he has an dangling earring.
He sounds like a well spoken kid. He speaks well of MSU and sounds like a team player. He will likely only be in East Lansing one year before he jumps to the NBA. There are some questions about his drive as rumors swirled he turned down Duke because he didn't want to compete for minutes on a very talented Blue Devils team.
MSU also got the commitment of the #1 player in the 2022 class, Emoni Bates last week. Click here to see that story. It's possible Christie could stick around until 2022 but very unlikely these 2 will ever see the floor together. With the uncertainty of COVID-19, who knows if fans will ever get to see either of them play live?
