Before I begin with this article about the University of Michigan, I just want to make myself very clear. I am still and always will be a Michigan State University fan! (Lol)

Even though I said that with a sense of humor, I would like to congratulate the University of Michigan for receiving such a high honor from U.S. News.

In the public school rankings, UM finished behind the University of California Los Angeles and University of California Berkeley, which ranked No. 20 and No. 22, respectively, in the overall national rankings. UM also jumped a spot in the overall rankings, landing at No. 23 alongside Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

What a great ranking for the University of Michigan. So the question is, where did Michigan State University fall in this lineup of best public schools?

Mlive.com adds:

The state of Michigan featured multiple schools in the national rankings. The next highest institution was Michigan State University at No. 83, followed by Michigan Technological University at No. 148 and the University of Detroit Mercy at No. 187.
