The Detroit Free Press is reporting on Tuesday afternoon that University of Michigan assistant football coach Pep Hamilton (pictured above, when he was an NFL assistant) is out after two seasons in Ann Arbor.

Hamilton has been the Wolverines passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the last two seasons.  Hamilton was an assistant in the NFL before coming to Michigan.

Hamilton will be replaced as QB's coach by Ben McDaniels, according to the Free Press.  Hamilton's future role with the program had been in question after the hiring of former Alabama assistant Josh Gattis as offensive coordinator back in January.
