Current University of Michigan men's basketball assistant coach and former Lansing Sexton HS and Western Michigan University standout Saddi Washington (pictured above) and his family are unhurt after they were involved in a one-vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon.

Washington had just returned, with the Michigan basketball team, from San Antonio, Texas.  That's where the team lost to Villanova in the NCAA national championship game on Monday night, 79-62.

No injuries were reported at the scene of the crash, in Van Buren Township near Ypsilanti Willow Run Airport (where the team had just landed earlier in the afternoon).

Washington has just finished his second season as an assistant under John Beilein.  He had been an assistant at Oakland University before joining the Wolverines in 2016.

Saddi was a star at Sexton HS in the early 1990's before a stellar career at Western Michigan University.
