Michigan Football has lost their defensive coordinator to another job.  On Thursday morning, D.J. Durkin was named the new head coach at the University of Maryland.

Durkin was in his first season as U-M defensive coordinator.  He takes for interim coach Mike Locksley, who replaced the fired Randy Edsall in mid-season.

Durkin said at his press conference that he will not join Michigan for their upcoming bowl game.
