The Detroit Tigers gave up two leads and lost to the Minnesota Twins 8-4 Wednesday night at Target Field. Detroit (84-68) went up 2-0 quickly in the top of the first inning thanks to consecutive RBI single from J.D. Martinez and Nick Castellanos respectively. Minnesota (65-87) took the lead back with three runs in their half of the inning capped off by Kurt Suzuki's RBI double. Detroit then regained the lead 4-3 in the second with an RBI single from Torii Hunter and an RBI double for Miguel Cabrera, part of Cabrera's four hit night. The Twins then tied the the game and took the lead for good in the sixth with another three run inning on RBI doubles from Joe Mauer and Danny Santana and a triple by Brian Dozier. Minnesota added two more in the eighth to complete the scoring. David Price (14-12) took the loss for the Tigers while Kyle Gibson (12-11) earned the win for Minnesota. Detroit now has only a half game lead over Kansas City in the American League Central heading into a weekend series with the Royals. The series starts Friday night in Kansas City.
