Tigers take the lead in the series against the Royals, 4-2
The Detroit Tigers defeated the Kansas City Royals tonight at Comerica Park, 4-2. The first run was scored by the Tigers after a sacrifice fly in the 1st off the bat of J.D. Martinez. They added onto their lead in the 2nd when Rajai Davis hit a 2 run homer. In the 5th Omar Infate hit a fly RBI single to bring Detroit's lead down to 2. But later in the 5th, J.D. Martinez answered back with a homer. In the 8th, Lorenzo Cain grounded out allowing Josh Willingham to score a run. The Tigers are now tied for first in the Central Division. They take on the Royals one last time tomorrow night, pregame coverage begins at 6:40 on Lansing's Big Talker, 1240 AM, WJIM.
