It was home runs abound for the Detroit Tigers (31-20) tonight as they defeated the Seattle Mariners (26-28), 6-3. The action started in the 3rd inning with a 2 run home run hit by Miguel Cabrera. Seattle would tie it in the 4th with a 2 run homer hit off the bat of Kyle Seager. Victor Martinez would respond in kind with a 3 run home run after a 10 pitch battle with Mariner's Pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma (3-2)  in the 6th. In the 7th, Rajai Davis hit a home run of his own. The Mariners would add a run in the 8th after a line drive double from Michael Saunders, scoring James Jones. Justin Verlander (6-4) pitched 7 and 2/3rd innings, earning 7 strike outs in the process.
