The Detroit Tigers (17-9) swept the Kansas City Royals (14-16) in Kansas City this afternoon, 9-4. Detroit was the first to get on the board after a line drive home run hit by Nick Castellanos in the 2nd inning. Torri Hunter hit a line drive single to bring home Rajai Davis in the 3rd. Ian Kinsler hit a ground ball single, which scored a run from Andrew Romine, and a soft fly double from Miguel Cabrera, which scored Davis and Kinsler in the 4th. Then, in the 5th inning, Alex Avila hit a 2 run home run. The Royals fought back in the 7th when a triple hit by Jarrod Dyson, scored a run from Brett Hays and Alcides Escobar. A sacrifice fly from Nori Aoki brought home Dyson. In the 8th, Torri Hunter hits a line drive single to score runs from Andrew Romine and Rajai Davis. During the bottom of the 9th Aoki hit a line drive single to allow Mike Moustakas to score. The Tigers are coming home to take on the Houston Astros tomorrow, game broadcast beings at 6:40 PM on Lansing's Big Talker, 1240 AM, WJIM.
