Tigers Make Moves In Advance Of Wednesday’s Game
The Detroit Tigers have had a busy time since Tuesday night's 10-5 loss to the Texas Rangers.
After last night's game, the Tigers sent struggling relief pitcher Bryan Garcia down to Triple-A Toledo. Since the team didn't have any available pitchers on the 40-man roster that was either healthy or major-league ready, the team created a spot by putting injured starter Spencer Turnbull (pictured) on the 60-day injured list (due to continued arm issues). Then the Tigers recalled left-handed pitcher Ian Krol to take Garcia's place on the active roster.
In addition to that, the team has brought back infielder Niko Goodrum from the 10-day injured list and has put outfielder Daz Cameron on the 10-day IL due to a toe injury suffered on Tuesday in Texas.
The Tigers enter play on Wednesday at 39-47 and in 3rd place in the American League Central behind the first-place Chicago White Sox.
