Tigers lose to the Rays, 7-3

The Tigers (48-37)  took a beating against the Tampa Bay Rays (41-50) tonight, losing 7-3. The 1st inning was a preview of the night for the Rays, starting with a single off the bat of Ben Zorbist to score Desmond Jennings. Matt Joyce hit a two run homer after a challenged review. Miguel Cabrera hit a sacrifice fly ball to bring home Rajai Davis home for a run. In the 5th, Evan Longoria hit a ground single, scoring a run from Zorbist in the process. In the 6th, Kevin Kiermier hit a force ground out to score a Sean Rodriguez, and Desmond Jennings hit a 2 run homer to increase their lead by 6. In the bottom of the 7th, Torii Hunter hit a homer for a desperately needed run. In the 9th, J.D. Martinez hit a homer, But it wasn't enough, as the Rays take the series. The Tigers will go up against the Dodgers on Tuesday Night, game broadcast begins at 6:40 on Lansing's Big Talker, WJIM AM, 1240.
