The Detroit Tigers were again victimized by a big inning and lost to the Minnesota Twins 12-4 in the first game of a double header at Target Field Saturday afternoon. Detroit (68-59) had tied the game at 1 in the top of the second but then saw Minnesota (52-78) explode for a six run bottom of the inning that saw 10 batters come to the plate led by Jordan Schafer's three run triple and Joe Mauer's two run double. The Twins added two more in the before the Tigers showed a little life in the fifth by scoring three runs on RBI from Nick Castellanos, Ezquiel Carrera and Miguel Cabrera. Minnesota then capped the scoring in the seventh with a three run triple by Kennys VargasBuck Farmer (0-1) who did not make it out of the second inning, took the loss for the Tigers and Yohan Pino (2-5) earned the win.
