It was a year to forget for the Tigers but the team still had a decent year from Miguel Cabrera. He was recognized by being nominated for the annual award.

According to Major League Baseball,  fans can vote for Cabrera for the Hank Aaron Award for 2019 here.

The award is giving to a player in each league as the best overall offensive performer.  Cabrera is the Tigers nominee for this year.  The White Sox nominee is Yoan Moncada and the Cubs nominee is Anthony Rizzo.

Cabrera won the award back in 2012 (the year he also won the Triple Crown) and 2013.

The overall winner is determined by Hank Aaron and a panel of Hall of Fame Players along with the fan vote.

It was a down year for home runs for Cabrera but he still hit .282 and had 139 hits.  He will be a long shot to win but it was great to see him get the nomination for the Tigers.

We will find out the winners for each league when they are announced during the World Series.
