The Detroit Tigers beat the San Diego Padres 6-2 at Petco Park Saturday night to even their weekend series.  Justin Verlander (1-1) pitched seven innings for his first win of the season.  Verlander only gave up two hits while striking out eight for Detroit (6-3) He also collected his first two Major League hits.  Ian Kennedy (1-2) took the loss for the Padres (4-7).  Austin Jackson and Torii Hunter each had two RBI's and Rajai Davis and Ian Kinsler collected two hits a piece as part of an 11 hit attack.Everth Cabrera and Chase Headley had two hits each for San Diego.  The two teams conclude their series Sunday with Max Scherzer (0-0) taking the mound for the Tigers while Tyson Ross(0-2) takes the hill for the Padres.Pregame coverage begins at 3:45pm on Lansing's Big Talker 1240 WJIM.
