This Michigan Ski Resort is Letting Military and First Responders Hit the Slopes for Free This Winter
Instead of working the slopes, EMT's, firefighters, police officers, veterans and active-duty military personnel can have fun and ski for free this season as a Michigan resort says a special "thank you."
It's a "pick me up." You might even call it a "lift" (but only if you love terrible puns). Cannonsburg ski area is taking care of those who take care of us by offering free lift tickets for first responders and military personnel.
So, not only can you ski free if you work in one of these professions, if you're looking to meet someone- let's say you've always had a thing for uniforms, this is the place to be this Winter.
Cannonsburg is in Belmont, just North of Grand Rapids, and has the highest vertical of any ski area in Southwest Michigan. They also offer snowboarding, tubing and year-round mountain biking. Remember, many ski areas make their own snow so you may be able to get your adrenaline pumping even if we don't have any snow on the ground.
