Well, it finally started again. The Detroit Lions had to make a very serious decision on Monday. Lions head coach Jim Caldwell had to change the offense. So he did. He fired his offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and two other offensive coaches. Lombardi is the grandson of the iconic NFL head coach. The late, great Vince Lombardi.

Lombardi came from the New Orleans Saints where he had made a strong reputation as a very strong offensive mind. Well, it hasn't panned out in Detroit. So, after less than two years he was shown the door. This is only the tip of the iceberg with the Lions total picture. Their outlook seemed somewhat bright after last season. But, it's the same old Lions.

The organization was inherited by Ford Sr.'s widow Martha, she is 90 years old. Her son Bill Jr. runs Ford Motor Co. This is not a very good situation. The Lions have been awful forever. Their fan base has been crushed year after year. The organization is run by two men, their names are Tom Lewand and Martin Mayhew. Those men are residuals from the Matt Millen era. That's enough said. The clock is ticking on the current head coach Jim Caldwell...tick, tick, tick.
