For the second year in a row, the Lions will open their regular season on national TV.  They will host Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams at Ford Field on Sunday night, September 8th at Ford Field on NBC.  Last season, the Lions opened at the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.  Which the Lions won, 21-20.

In Week 4, the Lions will host their recent nemesis, the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.  Seattle has beaten the Lions the last two seasons.

After a bye in Week 5, the Lions head to Dallas to play the Cowboys in Week 6.  In week 10, Detroit will play on Sunday Night Football at the AFC South champion Houston Texans on November 10th.

The traditional Thanksgiving Day game at Ford Field is on November 28th against the Chicago Bears on CBS.  The following week, the Lions host the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football on December 5th on Amazon Prime.

The rematch of the NFC Championship Game is in Week 17 as they visit the San Francisco 49ers on December 30th on ESPN & ABC.  And then the Lions finish the regular season at Ford Field against the Minnesota Vikings on the weekend of January 4-5, 2025.

As the defending champions of the NFC North, the Lions have a much tougher schedule in 2024. They'll be playing a "first-place schedule", as they face each of the other division champions in the NFC.  Their "wild card" regular season game is another tough one.  They host the AFC East champion Buffalo Bills in Week 15.

Is this a case of the Lions being a better team in 2024 than in 2023, and yet, have a worse record because of the tougher schedule?  We'll see.  But there's lots of good, competitive games on the slate this fall.  Gooooo Lions!!!!!
