It appears a small Metiotsunami pushed water farther than usual on the shores of Holland, Michigan. Metiotsunami are caused by air pressure disturbances, usually from lines of thunderstorms.
Do you think there could come a time when the National Weather Service and the state put an all-out ban on swimming in Lake Michigan for a period of time? Or do you think the current system using flags to determine whether it’s safe or not will improve over time?
Maybe the furthest point from any major Great Lake. Located just south of Eaton Rapids, it’s the most centralized part of the state which is boxed in by I-96 I-94 I-69, and U-S 127.
