The MSU Spartans got their first victory in Big 10 play against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 27-22.MSU got things going in the 1st quarter when Connor Cook completed a pass to Tony Lippett for a 55 yard touchdown. Spartans added onto their lead in the 2nd when Jeremy Langford rushed for 33 yards for a TD, giving MSU a 14 point lead over the Cornhuskers. Michael Geiger completed a 28 yard Field Goal to give the Spartans a 17-0 lead going into the second half. The Spartans added onto their lead with a 27 yard field goal in the 3rd. Nebraska got on the board in the 3rd quarter after a Drew Brown field goal. MSU responded when Lippett rushed for 32 yards for a TD, MSU lead 27-3. The Cornhuskers got their first TD of the night when Ameer Abdullah made a 2 yard rush for TD. Ryker Fyfe went for an unsuccessful 2 point attempt, so the score remained 27-9. Abdullah rushed a yard TD with 4 minutes left in the game, making the score 27-15. But Nebraska wasn't done yet, De'Mornay Pierson-El ran for a 62 yard punt return, but a failed 2 point attempt left the score, 27-22 with 3 and a half minutes left in the game. In the last seconds of the game, Trae Waynes made an interception to win the game for the Spartans. Cook led the game in passing for 234 yards. Lippett led the game in rushing and receiving, rushing for 32 yards, and receiving for 104 yards. MSU goes to West Lafayette to take on Perdue.
