On a cold and windy senior day at Spartan Stadium, Michigan State topped Rutgers 45-3.  Michigan State was lead by running back Jeremy Langford who had 126 yards on 16 carries.  He also had 2 touchdowns during the game. He also eclipsed the 1,000 yard rushing mark for the 2nd straight season.  He also eclipsed 100+ yards for the 14th straight conference game.  Backup running back Nick Hill had 12 carries for 59 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Connor Cook had a good day going 16/24 for 254 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Tony Lippett caught 5 of those passes for 72 yards and 1 touchdown.  Keith Mumphery had 4 catches for 61 yards during the game as well.

For the Scarlet Knights, quarterback Gary Nova was inconsistent throughout the game finishing with 108 yards on 11/26 passing and 0 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.  Catching most of those passes were John Tsimis who had 5 catches for 39 yards. Robert Martin lead the way on the ground for Rutgers finishing with 68 yards on 16 carries.  Rutgers falls to 6-5 (2-5) on the season and will finish the regular season on the road against another Big Ten newcomer Maryland.  Michigan State will improve to 9-2 (6-1) on the season and will finish their season next week at Penn State in the battle for the Land Grant Trophy.  Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 3:30 pm and can be heard on WJIM 1240 AM and WMMQ 94.9 FM.
