In the midst of a 88-69 blowout over Big Ten leading Indiana on Sunday, the Spartans were dealt a blow to their bench depth as reserve Kenny Goins went down with what looked to be a serious knee injury.

The injury was sustained when Matt McQuaid ran into Goins after taking a charge in the game.

On Monday, Tom Izzo addressed the injury concerns on the Dan Dakich show.

A sprained MCL is a slight upgrade from what was initially feared as a torn meniscus, which could have kept him out much longer, maybe even the rest of the season.

Sophomore Marvin Clark played much of the minutes left by Goins leaving the game, and proved a suitable replacement in the win with four points and four rebounds.

Michigan State's next game is Thursday at home facing the Wisconsin Badgers, tip off set for 9 P.M. Catch Spartans basketball action all season long on 1240 WJIM-AM and 94.9 WMMQ.
