Spartans Fall To Irish In OT
Denzel Valentine hit a game tying three pointer with 48 seconds left sending the game into overtime but Notre Dame outscored 18th ranked Michigan State in the extra period 12-11 to pull out a 79-78 victory Wednesday night at the Joyce Center in South Bend. Michigan State (5-3) dropped their second game in a row despite 22 points from Valentine and a career high 18 from fellow Sexton High alum Bryn Forbes. Branden Dawson added 16 points and a career high 18 rebounds. Notre Dame (7-1) was led by two 20 point scorers, Jerian Grant who had 27 and Demetrius Jackson who scored 22. The game featured 15 lead changes and neither team led by more than seven points the entire game. Michigan State returns home for the next seven games starting Saturday afternoon when they face Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Breslin Center.
