The Michigan State Spartans Hockey team finished with a split of their two games in Columbus when they dropped a 3-0 decision to the Ohio State Buckeyes Friday night at Value City Arena. Michigan State (4-7, 1-1 Big Ten) were unable to find the back of the net and dropped their first conference game of the year. After a scoreless first period from both teams, Ohio State (4-7-1, 1-1) scored twice in the second on goals from Matt Johnson and Nick Schillkey. Darik Angeli capped the Buckeye scoring with his goal in the third. It was a good night for Ohio State as all three goals were subjected to official review and all three were allowed. Jake Hildebrand made 25 saves for Michigan State while Ohio State's Matt Tomkins stopped all 29 shots he faced. Michigan State next takes the ice next Friday with they travel to New Jersey to face off against the Princeton Tigers. Pregame coverage begins at 6:40pm on The Game 730 AM WVFN.
