Sources: Angels Agree To Extension With Trout
Media sources are telling ESPN that the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are in the process of finalizing a 12-year contract extension worth $430 million with All-Star outfielder Mike Trout (pictured).
The reported deal would surpass the record-setting 10-year, $330 million deal that All-Star outfielder Bryce Harper got from the Philadelphia Philles earlier this month.
Trout was slated to become a free agent after the 2020 season. The new deal would start with the 2021 season.
Trout has played his entire eight-year career with the Angels, he has hit .307, with 240 home runs, and 648 career runs batted in (RBI). He won the American League's Most Valuable Player in 2014 and 2016. He was the AL Rookie of the Year in 2012.
