We knew it was going to happen at some point. Lansing is predicted to get snow on Monday.

The fall has been great. Temperatures have been comfortable and it's been pretty dry. We've had lots of sunshine and we never get tired of that. As we go deeper into October, it's inevitable that we will receive some sort of snow.

Typically Lansing gets very little snow in October, about a tenth of inch of snow. I can remember trick or treating as a kid with the snow falling. Snow on Halloween drove me crazy because my parents always made me wear my coat, over my costume. Were they fun ruiners or were they being responsible parents? At the time they were fun ruiners, now that I am a dad I understand why they did that.

Here's the scoop. I wrote a story about signs you can look for that will tell you how bad winter could be this year, read it here. When it comes to snowfall, I think that the first time the flakes drop, is the first snow of the year.

Snowfall totals are generally taken at the airport. Although we are not expecting any accumulation, Monday and Tuesday will be a humbling reminder of what is in store for us the next several months.

According to my weather channel app we can expect a rain and snow mix on Monday morning and Monday evening. Tuesday calls for the same, rain and snow showers in the morning. Are you ready for the impending doom of winter? I like it, personally. It gives me something fun to do in my truck.

Don't shoot the messenger, here's your Monday and Tuesday forecasts.
