According to Westgate's 2018 Heisman Trophy odds, Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson is among the best odds to take the trophy come December.

Stanford running back Bryce Love is considered the favorite with opening odds at 5-1. Patterson is among a group of players who opened at 20-1, which are the 5th best odds currently offered by the book.

Patterson transferred to Michigan from Ole Miss after a NCAA scandal rocked his former school, and even then Ole Miss formally objected to his transfer but was denied by the NCAA to prevent Patterson from playing right away.
