The Michigan State University football staff has a new member for the 2018 campaign.  Former NFL kicker Shayne Graham has joined Mark Dantonio's staff as a Special Teams Intern.  Graham made the announcement via his Instagram page Monday.

The 15-year professional kicker had been with coach John Bonamego and the Central Michigan University Chippewa's program last season.  Graham wrote on his Instagram: "Very excited to begin my next journey in my coaching career at Michigan State University. I’m very grateful for the opportunity I had at Central Michigan University over the past year. It was hard to say goodbye for now. But I leave with amazing memories that I will cherish forever.  I will always be a fan of coach John Bonamego and the rest of the #fireup family. Looking forward to the hard work and preparation for the 2018 season."

The position is not full-time and does not count towards the 10-man coaching staff permitted by NCAA rules.

Dave Rayner, who kicked at Michigan State University and spent 7 season in the NFL, was the special teams intern last season.
