The Detroit Tigers shutout the Colorado Rockies 4-0 Sunday afternoon to complete a three game sweep at Comerica Park. Anibal Sanchez (8-5) was dominant in the win pitching seven shutout innings and giving up no walks, only two hits and striking out 12. Detroit (61-47) got all the runs they needed in the third inning thanks to a Miguel Cabrera RBI single followed up by a three run home run from Victor Martinez. Colorado (44-65) could only manage three hits the entire game. Jorge De La Rosa (11-7) gave up all four runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings. Detroit now heads out on a nine game road trip starting in New York. The Tigers and Yankees begin a four game series Monday night at Yankee Stadium where Max Scherzer (13-3) will start for Detroit and Brandon McCarthy (3-0) pitches for the Yankees.
