Report: Verlander, Upton Out Of Trade Talks
Bob Nightengale of USA Today tweeted on Monday morning that Detroit Tigers veteran pitcher Justin Verlander (pictured) and starting leftfielder Justin Upton will not be a part of any trade before the 4pm non-waiver trade deadline on Monday afternoon.
Verlander has been rumored to be moved for weeks now. He is 6-7 on the season for the 47-56 Tigers. Upton is hitting .281 with 17 home runs and 67 RBI this season.
JV has two years remaining on his contract with a vesting option for the 2020 season. Upton can opt out of his deal this coming offseason and become a free agent.
