Not long before the 4pm Eastern MLB trade deadline, the Detroit Tigers have traded right fielder Nicholas Castellanos (pictured) to the Chicago Cubs, according to multiple media reports.

Castellanos was in the Tigers starting lineup for today's game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, but was pulled from the lineup by manager Ron Gardenhire as the trade was made.

Nick was drafted by the Tigers in the 1st round in 2010 (44th overall selection), he was hitting .273 with 11 home runs for the Tigers this season.  He'll be a free agent after this season is complete.
