It seems the University of Michigan finally has some good news in its search for a new quarterback for next season.

Ole Miss transfer Shea Patterson has been granted "immediate eligibility" according to a report by 247 Sports' Jon Henschke.

Shortly afterward, Patterson announced his intentions to transfer north via a Twitter announcement. His reason for transferring being the increased NCAA sanctions placed on Ole Miss, the school pushed back on his intentions.

Thus began a back and forth between Michigan, Ole Miss and Patterson to see whether or not Ole Miss would fight Patterson's request for a waiver that would allow him to play immediately.

While all this happened, former Michigan quarterback Wilton Speight re-appeared as a candidate to come back to the Maze and Blue before committing to UCLA as a graduate transfer.

Barring further interruption in the process, it looks like Michigan finally has its man.
