The Detroit News is reporting that Michigan State football is getting a player out of the transfer portal.

He is Purdue redshirt freshman Maliq Carr, who went to high school at Oak Park high school in Michigan.  Carr entered the transfer portal after Purdue's spring practice this year.

Carr, who is 6-5 and 235 lbs., is also a good basketball player.  And it is possible, according to the report, that he could join Tom Izzo's squad as a walk-on next season.

Maliq only played in three games for the Boilermakers last season.  He made one catch for 15 yards.  He says that he was promised an opportunity to play basketball at Purdue, but it didn't happen this year.
