Report: Pistons want Stan Van Gandy as Coach/Operations

Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Detroit Pistons are aggressively pursuing former Miami Heat, Orlando Magic, and Wisconsin coach Stan Van Gundy.

The offer , reportedly, would be for Van Gundy to assume coaching duties, while having total control of basketball operations. Van Gundy is also reportedly being pursued by the Golden State Warriors to replace the fired Mark Jackson.

However, the report states that personnel control is not a part of that franchise's plans. That could be the enticing carrot Pistons Owner Tom Gores dangles in front of Van Gundy to reel him in over the competition.
