The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that The Ohio State University has hired Butler's Chris Holtmann (pictured) to replace the fired Thad Matta as head men's basketball coach on Friday.  A news conference is expected to make it official on Friday afternoon.

Matta was fired by OSU Athletic Director Gene Smith on Monday.  Media outlets are reporting that the deal for Holtmann is for eight years and almost $25 million total.

Holtmann has been the head coach at Butler for the last three seasons.
