The report details how then MSU gymnastics coach Kathie Klages asked her gymnasts to sign a card for team doctor Larry Nassar, not for an occasion like his birthday or a get well soon card, but because sexual assault allegations over the course of decades had come to light and the media was all over the story.

One of the gymnasts, Lindsey Lemke, recalls the encounter with Klages from the NBC report. "She said, 'You don't have to sign this if you don't want to, but it's for Larry and it would be appreciated if we could let him know that we're thinking about him,'"

NBC's report details Lemke's story as well as another defendant who is only known as "Amanda" in official court filings.

As of now, close to 100 women have come forward with sexual abuse allegations stemming from Nassar's treatment of them. Klages has since been named among the defendants in the suit against Larry Nassar.
