Shelley Appelbaum, a top level employee in the Michigan State University athletic department has decided to resign, according to media reports.

WLNS TV 6 in Lansing is reporting that Appelbaum resigned a week ago with no reason given for her resignation, according to an MSU Spokesperson, but that she left on her own.

Appelbaum's official title, who has been at MSU for nearly 20 years, was Executive Associate Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator for MSU Athletics.

She is the second high level athletic department official to leave office in the last six months.  Athletic Director Mark Hollis retired back in January just days before an ESPN report on legal issues at Michigan State was made public.
