Former Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez (pictured) has agreed to a deal to join the National League East-leading Washington Nationals organization, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

K-Rod, as he is commonly called, was released by the Detroit Tigers last week during their West Coast road trip.  He is owed around $3 million by the Tigers for the remainder of the 2017 season.

Rodriguez is fourth all-time with 437 career saves.  He was a member of the World Champion Anaheim Angels squad that won the World Series in 2002.
