WVFN's David "Mad Dog" DeMarco and Tim Staudt are reporting, and MSU Sports Information Director Ben Phlegar is confirming on Monday morning that former Michigan State player and assistant coach and former NFL assistant coach and head coach Henry "Hank" Bullough passed away over the weekend at the age of 85.

Here's Tim Staudt's tweet:

He was the head coach of the Buffalo Bills for portions of the 1985 and 1986 seasons, compiling a 4-18 career record (this after a one game stint as co-head coach of the New England Patriots in 1978).

Known as "The Doctor of Defense," he was the defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers, and the Cincinnati Bengals in addition to his multiple stints at Michigan State.

He is the father of former MSU football players Chuck and Shane Bullough, and grandfather to former Spartans Max, Byron, and Riley Bullough.
