The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to trade defenseman Nick Jensen (pictured) and a 2019 draft pick to the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals on Friday afternoon, according to the Detroit Free Press.

In return for Jensen, the Red Wings receive defenseman Madison Bowey and a future second round draft pick.

Jensen, who will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st, has spent his entire career in the Red Wings organization.  He was drafted by the club in 2009.  He's scored 43 points in his three year NHL career with the Wings.

Jensen had been rumored to be a trade chip for the Wings, as the team is well out of the Eastern Conference playoff race.  The NHL's trade deadline is Monday afternoon.
